Expo panels: a new level of ultraviolet exposure flexibility
Expo panels are a cost effective and flexible solution for ultraviolet and visible irradiation, specially designed for customers whose requirements are not met by Luzchem's wide range of photoreactors. These ultraviolet building blocks offer a new dimension in ultraviolet and visible exposure tools.
Each panel (8 x 16 x 3 inches) uses five fluorescent lamps providing an emissive area of approximately 7 x 12 inches. All Luzchem 8-watt fluorescent lamps can be used, including UVA, UVB, UVC, visible and 420 nm (UVC lamps require an exhaust as ozone is generated). Expo panels are also fully compatible with Rayonet lamps. Each expo panel has an independent fuse, switch, and an internal temperature sensor that shuts off power if internal components reach 60 ºC (140 ºF); panels are supplied with a pair of UV absorbing safety goggles.
Expo panels allow virtually infinite design flexibility. You may just need one panel for ultraviolet curing applications, or to irradiate biological samples in Petri dishes. Alternatively, you may want to use multiple panels to expose a conveyor belt, or transform an incubator into a photoreactor, or refinish a separate room into an ultraviolet exposure room that meets your special needs.
Applications include organic photochemistry, photobiology, photodegradation, photostability, photocatalysis, contact imaging, disinfection, bacterial sterilization, ultraviolet curing, accelerated aging, and many others.
Each expo panel has building cubes in its four corners, with 1/4-20 threads. In addition, several mounting holes allow installation under counters, and easy interconnection of multiple panels in many geometries. The exterior enclosure is built of stainless steel, and the lamp backing of aluminum, to ensure excellent UV reflectivity.
Luzchem offers external shut down digital timers (LZC-TIM-E) designed to optimize exposure control, as well as acrylic UV-shielding panels and interconnection kits. Photoreactor tools, such as power meters, spectroradiometers and merry-go-rounds can also be used with expo panels.
Note: Any 12" Rayonet lamps can be used with our expo panels.
